Companies Combine Solar with Gas Turbine for Industrial Process Applications
New York, NY, June, 2009 - ArcStar Energy has partnered with industrial energy outsourcing specialist XTnrgy www.xtnrgy.com to develop an innovative industrial power solution that leverages the strenghts of utility-grade solar and advanced combined heat and power (CHP) gas turbines. Economical baseload power is provided by the turbine while solar reduces peak utility demand. The two technologies are unified in an innovative Power Purchase Agreement which locks down electricity rates for 20 years. The two companies believe that large industrial customers will embrace the opportunity to hedge their energy costs, increase their energy reliability and reduce their carbon footprint dramatically when they build or refurbish their electrical plant.
